Failures

    Dropping the atomic bomb led to the death of countless innocent Japanese civilians and caused devastation throughout Japan. The U.S. did not know the extent of damage the bomb would cause - not only killing thousands of civilians, but affecting people for generations to come. The radioactivity gave people cancer, birth defects, and other deadly diseases. The atomic bombs also completely destroyed thousands of homes and important monuments to the Japanese culture.
